Although I said that the late Col. Tom Ortega was the 'Father of Philippine Body Building' another friend of his and also of Joe Ramos was the 'Pioneer of Filipino Body Building' unless you want to include Dr. Jose Rizal, the National Hero of the Philippines as such...for reasons that are historical...... 'Louie' San Augustin was not only a bodybuilder, ala 'Charles Atlas' but a superb Filipino Arm Wrestler in the style that differs from the usual ones most Westerners are familiar with.....it consists of using the wrists against each other with a closed fist.....and you see these contests in movies filmed there,uusally between the 'hero' and the 'villain' in which hot irons or some similar things are there positioned so that the hand of the loser is damaged or cut,etc. I will post some pictures of Louie and this type of arm/wrist/hand wrestling..when I have time..
